The Giant’s Foot Surf is an intimate surf lodge on the beach in Gigante, Nicaragua. There are a trickle of tourists, a few ex-pats, a few locals, and a lot of cows and pigs. Otherwise it’s just us and our guests hanging out. See photos and descriptions below.
The Location
Giant’s Foot Surf is located in Gigante, Nicaragua, a small rural fishing village on the southern Pacific coast. A stay with us takes you just off the beaten path of established surf tourism towns like San Juan Del Sur and at the same time brings you closer to all the great breaks that southern Nicaragua has to offer.
The Lodge

We house ourselves and our guests in a beachfront lodge. The camp has six bedrooms, a large living room, small public bathroom, and kitchen/bar area, with a large outdoor area for hanging out. Most rooms are double occupancy with two beds, and we also have a dorm-style room available for accommodating larger groups. Every room is equipped with air conditioning, a fan, and a private bathroom. At normal full capacity, we can accommodate 10 surfers, but even more with special arrangement.
Things to do at camp
We have a bar on site, as well as a ping pong/beer pong table, a massage table and masseuse available,a fire pit, and hammocks galore in which to relax and take in a gorgeous sunset after a hard day of surfing. We also have a library of movies, books, and board games available. People spend a lot of time on the beach and around the fire just hanging out. We play a lot of poker, and games in general. Playa Gigante is a pretty quiet little pueblo. At certain times of the year there are a few bars open that consist of a stand, a branch and palm frond shade structure known as a rancho (or palapa) maybe some corrugated metal siding to keep the pigs out, a few plastic tables and chairs, a juke box, and a cold beer. There are a couple of restaurants in town and a small store (pulperia) where you can buy the barest necessities. Its just a small sleepy village that wakes up to party once in a while.
